The Latest Project.I've been looking at ways to combine diary and letter writing and came across the website
www.futureme.org/ which you may be familiar with. On it you can actually write to your future self on an email basis to this time tomorrow or any time up to
fifty years ahead. So I began toying with the idea of not only writing to your future self but to your past self - were it possible - and what we would say.
I've been asking a variety of people to write two letters; one to themselves ten years ahead (2021) and one ten years behind (2001). The responses I've had so far show advice, guidance and even warnings to the past, helping them to get where they are today and expressing hopes, questions and fears for their future.
If you're interested in participating the letters can be as short or as long as you like, (one person simply put 'Jack it in,' on their past letter!) I will use the letters by putting them over images and they will not be shown publicly; only to members of my course group. They can be written in any form of your choosing: paragraphs, bullet points and even drawings. I only ask that it is no more than one A4 sheet each and signed; preferably on plain paper though it can be on lined if you rather. It doesn't need to be dated though I would like to know your age, but this can be put in the email you send it with not in the actual letter unless you choose to. I will not share any of your information except that already in the letter and your age if you enclose it.
(However if you put personal information in the letters, i.e: phone numbers or addresses I will not use it.)
You can scan it and send to this email
elliemillerphotography@hotmail.com If you have any questions or thoughts about this idea (whether you choose to take to part or not) please also send them to the same email or message me on here.
Thanks guys!
